Senior Manager/SEC Reporting

Job Overview:

Eventus SEC Reporting Managers take ownership of clients’ various public filings. The role includes managing multiple engagements at the same time while guiding the SEC filing process toward final filing. SEC Reporting Managers also need to manage multiple work streams including outside parties (e.g., auditors and SEC counsel) and Eventus team members assigned to the engagement. This role reports directly to a Managing Director of Eventus.

Essential Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Regulation S-K and S-X
  • Ability to draft, prepare and review Securities Act and Exchange Act filings
  • Ability to understand issuer’s business in order to conceptualize and draft non-financial portions of public filings
  • 3-5 years of audit experience with a Big 4/National Firm with greater than 50% of time spent on SEC reporting clients
  • Keen project management abilities
  • A demonstrated history of success in developing processes and achieving project/task deadlines
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Proven track record of working closely with all major functional leaders across the organizational landscape

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Eventus team on a client’s public filings without needing to be micromanaged
  • Manage multiple engagements at the same time
  • Manage multiple workstreams
  • Closely align with the team in real-time on engagements in order to keep timing on track
  • Be able to interface with team members and be a participant in any potential problem-solving needed to guide the SEC filing process toward final filing
  • Research and draft memos on technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Adhere to strict deadlines with existing Eventus accounting staff to coordinate the various components of the SEC filing process
  • Additional duties as necessary

Education and Knowledge Requirements:

  • A demonstrated background in public filings as a former auditor or similar function
  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
  • CPA in good standing
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and technical accounting rules
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills, ability to learn new software quickly
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in SEC filings
  • Knowledge across multiple industries
